Senior Project Manager

Managed a complete revision to the existing site as an integrated site for MyPoints and BonusMail. Directed the following departments: Development, Operations, Design, Marketing, Legal, Copywriting, and Quality Assurance. This project required extensive defect remediation. I analyzed the results of focus groups to choose design and layout of site and corporate logo. I directed rewrite of all existing communication - member and non-member. I created a sub site for re-activation for returning members. Following revision of site, membership grew from 10,000 to 17 MILLION members. MyPoints.com enjoyed a Web reach of more than 11 percent during the period, and received more than 8.6 million unique visitors, according to Media Metrix. Media Metrix also ranked MyPoints.com the Internet's No. 1 Incentive site and No. 3 retail portal.

Responsible for the following initiatives, which involved specifying, designing, implementing, and launching the following new products for the website:

  • Web-based unsubscribe for members
  • Web-based account consolidation for members
  • New functionality for web-based update account info for members
  • Web-based update account, short version for members
  • Web-based email volume control for members
  • Admin-based consolidation for member care
  • Email volume control for member care
  • "Links" program (in which members earn Points for signups from their homepages) and provide ongoing support for the new program
  • "Share the Rewards" program (in which members earn Points for referring new members)
  • Web-based request for missing secure information for members, such as missing password
  • Forced login for secure areas of website
  • Special Values section of MyPoints website
  • DAMM functionality (Dynamically Assigned Marketing Messages), including creating the admin program, and administrating the program
  • Changes to “Join” button on nav bar, which allows "web surfing buddy" to signup
  • Revised "QuickList by Partner" approach from hard-coded HTML in DynaEdit to GOCI control, which allows rapid implementation of new co-brands and easier administration to existing environments

18 StarMedia Private Label Program Launch

Senior Project Manager

This program allowed MyPoints to extend its marketing reach into the international marketplace by partnering with StarMedia, the #1 portal and ISP within the emerging Latin on-line market. Led team of approximately 20 from the following departments: Development, Operations, Design, Marketing, Legal, Copywriting, and Quality Assurance. This eighteen-month project launched in five releases, each delivered within client’s timeline.

  • Implement Spanish and Portuguese private label programs—versions of MyPoints software revised to control multiple European languages
  • Managed launch requirements for Spanish and Portuguese sites
  • Created process to manage site content translation
  • Managed export of all site content, translation in two languages and import the translation
  • Managed testing site, bug detection and fix cycles
  • Created StarMedia organizational chart, used by StarMedia to staff their new department
  • Implemented first non-US offline file transfer (for StarMedia's clients). This included helping client to acquire PGP encryption technology only released to non-US companies in January of this year
  • Initiated new JavaScript functionality, which supports popup images for redemption catalogs
  • Managed and implement demographics changes associated with new market requirements
  • Supervised resolution of legal issues regarding ownership, terms of service, privacy policy
  • Created Administrative logins for all StarMedia personnel, including giving approvals and granting access permissions to different levels
  • Reviewed all existing MyPoints reports from all departments to compile a summary of required reports, which will be used as the basis for all future private systems

Successfully launched international e-commerce and one-to-one marketing website for joint venture between MyPoints and Japanese partner (DNP) in the emerging market in Japan.

  • Led cross-departmental team of approximately 20, including development, design operations, database, marketing, and quality assurance
